I am not lucky to have Provide-A-Ride. I consider it a blessing from the Lord.

Over these past two years,Imogene Bennet has come to rely on RSVP Provide-A-Ride as her transportation for medical appointments. Her family that lives nearby often has difficulty taking time off from work. It is a burden she does not want to put on them. Imogene is 84 years old and lives alone. For her, the rides to medical appointments also provide a welcome opportunity to visit with the volunteer drivers. She shares how much it means to her to spend time with someone who cares enough to do this act of kindness:

I enjoy the opportunity to visit with the Provide-A-Ride drivers. They are all so friendly—it’s like I’ve known them for a long time. My medical appointments are also a time to get to know someone else—I look forward to my next visit. The volunteer drivers are so kind; they stay with me during my appointment. If I need to stop by the pharmacy to get my prescriptions filled, they are even willing to do that. Words cannot express how thankful I am for the Provide-A-Ride drivers. To me, they are a blessing from the Lord.

In 2017, RSVP Provide-A-Ride completed 5,888 rides to medical appointments for 367 low-income seniors. Our dedicated volunteer drivers logged 176,640 miles! Thank you for serving to provide rides for Imogene and so many others like her who have come to depend on RSVP Provide-A-Ride. If you have thought about becoming a volunteer driver, now is a great time to get involved. It’s easy to volunteer! You choose how often and how far you will drive. We also provide supplemental car insurance as well as mileage reimbursement.

It’s hard to get to the doctor. With Provide-A-Ride, I don’t have to worry anymore.
