For these past six years, Eunice has been an active RSVP of Central Oklahoma volunteer. She’s volunteered at nonprofit partner agencies such as Upward Transitions, Travelers Aid, the Regional Food Bank, United Way, Tribute For Veterans, and several others. Eunice likes the adventure that comes from volunteering—meeting new people, seeing new places, and doing new things.
She grew up in a family that believed in giving back. She learned at an early age the value of helping and serving others. Her greatest satisfaction is knowing she’s been able to help one more person and make his or her day a little better. Eunice shares how much volunteering has meant to her.
I don’t have a lot of money. I can’t write out a big check, but I can give my time to help someone in need.
It makes me feel good when people tell me how thankful they are for what we do for them. When you volunteer, you get to see other people’s lives and hear their stories. It makes me realize how blessed I am, and I also walk away having my life touched by the experience.
Because I volunteer through RSVP of Central Oklahoma, it’s never been a guess if I will enjoy a new volunteer opportunity. I can take on a new assignment with confidence knowing it’s going to be a great experience, and that has made all the difference for me.
We invite you to join our growing volunteer list. You don’t have to do it alone. Like Eunice, we can help you stay involved, give back, and make a difference to help others in need.
