Don Weaver is a proud veteran of World War II. Recently, a RSVP of Central Oklahoma volunteer delivered a bag with hygiene items to him as part of Project Red, White & Blue to honor and support our veterans. For Don, who is 91 years old and lives alone, this was a very much welcomed visit.

Project Red, White & Blue was created in March of this year to provide hygiene items to low-income older veterans in Central Oklahoma. RSVP volunteers who are experiencing mobility and health challenges assemble the hygiene bags, and then active RSVP volunteers personally distribute the bags to older veterans throughout Central Oklahoma.

For Don, this was a surprise that was a special moment for him.

“It’s so nice to be thought of and appreciated. I live alone and on a fixed income. This bag has so many items that I don’t have to go out and purchase. I truly appreciate this thoughtful gift. RSVP has always been so wonderful to me.”

Please contact our office if you would like to be a Project Red, White and Blue volunteer or if you know of a veteran we can honor and serve by delivering a bag. Thank you!
